Filmed entirely in Antarctica during a southern winter, South of Sanity follows a remote research station cut off from the outside world as tension rises and paranoia spreads. As the isolated community begins to fracture, a killer emerges from within, and one by one, the wintering team are picked off.

Combining extreme location filmmaking with dark humour and improvised practical effects, the film has become a cult favourite for audiences who enjoy unusual cinema stories as much as unusual films themselves.

About the Film

Fourteen crew members are left to overwinter at Britain’s largest Antarctic research station. Nearly six months into isolation, contact with the outside world is lost. As tensions rise and paranoia spreads, the small community begins to fracture. Then a masked killer emerges from within. One by one, the team are picked off, and in the most inhospitable place on Earth, it becomes clear the greatest danger isn’t outside the base — it’s inside it.

Filmed entirely on location in Antarctica, South of Sanity is a cult B-movie psychological horror unlike anything else ever made.
